The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association, together with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, organizer of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia, is organizing a products competition for exhibitors at the above fairs. In addition to gaining prestige, winners of the awards will also benefit from the promotion campaign launched by the HKEIA and its supporters. These promotions include displaying the winning products at major international electronics trade fairs, advertising and publicity in major newspapers, magazines and websites.
由香港貿易發展局主辦的香港電子產品和國際電子組件及生產技術展覽會將於本年10月13-16日舉行。香港電子業商會作為上述兩個展覽會的協辦單位，於展覽期間舉辦每年一屆的創新科技獎。為了提高香港科技產品的聲望，得獎產品將於幾個大型國際電子貿易展覽會展出，並可在香港電子業商會網業和協辦單位的雜誌上刊登。
The main objectives of this competition, called the"HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products" are to raise the image of products to overseas customers, stimulate more creativeness within the industry and to recognize and reward those companies which are able to produce outstanding new products excellent in areas of design, technology or feature.
香港電子業商會創新科技獎，旨在提高產品在海外的形象、激發電子同業的創意、表揚和獎勵在產品設計、技術等方面有優異表現的公司。
This competition is open ONLY to those companies which are currently exhibitors at the con - currently - run 2007 Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia to be held from 13 - 16th October, 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The two shows are organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Cost of entry is FREE. Each company may submit NO MORE than THREE products for the competition but each entry must be accompanied by this entry form.
凡本屆香港電子產品或國際電子組件及生產技術展覽會的參展商，均可參加香港電子業商會創新科技獎比賽。參賽費用全免。每間公司可遞交不超過三件產品參選，每件產品須附上一張參加表格。
The competition covers four product categories and awards will be given to:
本年比賽分四個參選項目：
All eligible applicants are required to complete this form and MAIL back to the HKEIA with a copy of photographs or colour catalogues and FULL description of your entry. Each entry must also include a short essay (English or Chinese) on "Why I think my product is a winner". Any product which has already won an award in similar competitions in Hong Kong within the past six months will be considered ineligible. A preliminary screening will be conducted after the first deadline and a group of finalists of between 10 to 12 entries will be seclected. (Schedules of visit will be provided to the finalists)
所有合資格的參選人均須填妥背頁參賽表，並附上產品的彩照或彩色目錄、一篇詳細介紹參選產品的文章，及一段闡述「產品的獨特之處及先進技術」的短文(中英皆可)，寄回香港電子業商會。 產品如在過去6個月內曾在香港舉辦的同類比賽中獲獎，則不符合參賽資格。截止日期後將舉行初步甄選，約10至12件產品將被挑選進入面試。(面示詳情將稍後知會入圍者)
Judging Criteria 評選準則
Selection of products will be made by a judging panel comprising mainly third - party independent bodies. These include the academia, tertiary bodies and commercial fields. Products will be judged in the basis of the criteria listed below, but with different emphasis being adopted for different categories of products. The decisions made by the judging panel shall be final.
Criteria: Technology innovations, Marketplace success / attractiveness; Function; Exceptional value for the price; Societal impact; Creativity; Uniqueness; Attractive packaging. (The above is listed for reference only)
為確保評選過程公正公平，評審委員會成員主要來自獨立的第三者組織，包括學界、公營機構及商界人士。參賽產品將基於下列評選準則進行評審。評選準則在不同產品／參賽項目佔有不同的比重，比賽結果將以評判團最後決定為準。
準則： 新發明或先進技術的運用／突破；市場價值；吸引力；功能；社會價值；創意；獨特性和包裝設計。（以上所列只供參考）
All submissions are accepted in good faith that said products, original designs or technologies are owned by the applicant. Acceptance of the product for the competition does not mean automatic endorsement or acceptance of applicant's ownership or rights. It is the full responsibility of the applicant to protect his / her design, copyrights, patents or intellectual property rights. The organizers of the competition (namely the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association, its sponsors and supporters, the panel of judges or any party or staff directly involved in the competition) are not responsible nor liable in any way in any dispute between the applicant and third parties for any infringement of copyrights, registered trademarks / designs or patented technologies. In the event of any such dispute and/or legal injunctions from third parties, such submissions will be declared void and ineligible for the competition and no liability can be passed on to the Organizers, judges or its parties for damages, loss or defamation to reputation. The judges have full discretionary power and may decide to withdraw a product from the competition without giving any reason and their decision is final. All applicants must be abide by the rules of the competition.
香港電子業商會是在互信的基礎上接納產品參與，並假設申請者為產品設計和技術的原有人。參選申請獲得接納不代表參賽者的產品擁有權或其他權利已獲本會確認。產品的設計、版權、專利權及知識產權的保障均由申請人負責。主辦單位(即香港電子業商會、贊助商及協辦商、評審委員及其他工作人員)將不會牽涉在參選者與第三者之間就版權、註冊商標／設計、專利科技等方面的紛爭，倘若有第三者提出爭議，及／或法律訴訟，該產品的參賽申請則會被取消。其參賽資格亦會被否定，產品或參選者如因此在聲譽上蒙受損失，主辦單位、評審委員會及有關人士將不負上任何責任。評審委員會將就各有關事項作出最終決定。並有權取消產品的參賽權利而不予解釋。所有申請人均須遵守參與規則。
