Seminar on Increasing awareness of Supply Chain Risk following the Japanese Earthquake
HKEIA organized the "Seminar: Increasing awareness of Supply Chain Risk following the Japanese Earthquake" on 18 May, 2011 at conference room of HKEIA office.
The terrible earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan had terrible consequences for the local population. As the global community comes to terms with the ongoing impact this disaster will have, it has been well noted that manufacturers in the high-tech industry dependent upon Japanese components are affected.
As manufacturing plants around the world reduce capacity or cease operations entirely, the HKEIA invites Aon, the world's leader in risk management and risk consulting, conducted a Global Risk Management Survey with leading organizations across 40 countries and 31 industries, to present their expert analysis on:
- The supply chain of an electronics manufacturer
- The risks at various stages throughout the supply chain
- What measures can be taken to protect your business against supply chain failure and business interruption
Speakers are as follow:
1. David Sedgwick, Director of Business Development and Strategic Risk Consulting, Aon Hong Kong Limited.
2. Jon Pipe, Director of Cargo for Asia, Aon Hong Kong Limited.
