The "Braille Embosser " Project wins the HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition Award (2009/2010)

Out of 30 projects from under graduates of electronic engineering or related engineering fields of universities in Hong Kong, "The Braille Embosser" project, led by Prof. Tim Woo, and completed by Patrick LEE Kwan Pak, Matthew TING Kin Man and KWAN Siu Hung from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) won the Gold Award of the HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition Award (2009/2010).

Gold prize winner

The objective of this award is to recognize and reward students with outstanding final year projects which demonstrate excellence in technology and innovation. The Award is co-organized by The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) and Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association Education Foundation (HKEIAEF).

 

Silver prize winner

Led by Dr. Humphrey K.W. Leung, Vice-Chairman of the HKEIA, and Group CEO of Solomon Systech Ltd., the panel of judges included CEOs from leading electronics companies. Overall the judges remarked that many of the entries showing talents of students with a high degree of innovation and excellent applications of new technologies.

 

Bronze prize winner

The HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 24 November at InnoAsia 2010 Networking Dinner in the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park.

The Awards are Gold, Silver & Bronze Prize for 3 outstanding projects and 7 Merit Prizes. Winners are as follows: -

Gold Prize


Project: Braille Embosser
