15th World Electronics Forum Meeting (WEF)
The World Electronics Forum (WEF) is a voluntary gathering of CEOs and Directors of electronics industry associations worldwide. Founded in 1995, WEF meets annually to discuss major topics of common interest to the various associations, exchange information on services and data and strengthen relations between associations for the benefit and service of our industries.
The 15th annual World Electronics Forum was jointly hosted by the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and the Shenzhen Electronics Industries Association (SEIA) from 14 - 18 November 2009 at Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel. 55 CEOs, Directors and Delegates from more than 12 economies, representing 4 continents attend the 2009 WEF. The WEF annual meeting focused on 4 key areas that were discussed in great detail. These include: environmental issues, the transition to digital television, free trade and the future direction of the CE industry.
HKEIA participated with the event, and the Chairman, Prof KB Chan has delivered a speech on the Energy Challenge and Green Power.
It was agreed that the next WEF meeting will take place in Las Vegas in 2011 during the CES show.
