Jog and Heartrate headphone wins the 11th HKEIA Innovation & Technology Grand Award

In a hotly contested competition, the newest Grand Award Winner at the 2009 HKEIA Award for Outstanding and Innovative Products was won by a Jog and Heartrate headphone which cover 14 granted and pending patents and applied fitness features to measure your health status when doing the exercise.

The HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation & Technology Products, now in its eleventh year, is held annually and is open to all exhibitors of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. The Award is organized by the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA), co-organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and it is sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., and RS Components Ltd.

Led by Prof. P.K. Alex Wai, Associate Vice President, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Chair Professor of Optical Communications, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the judges deliberated upon the outstanding functions of the 14 finalists out of the nearly 100 entries with direct questioning of those finalists at their booths today.

The panel of judges included distinguished representatives from academia, tertiary institutions, supporting organisations, and CEOs from leading electronics companies, They all remarked that it was very difficult in choosing the winners this year as the marks were very close.

Chief Judge Prof. Wai remarked that the degree of innovation and market value was exalted. Other judges echoed Prof.Wai's views and indicated that many products showed a high degree of design talents and apply it in an innovative way into their own designs.

The HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation & Technology Products Presentation Ceremony was held today (Tuesday) at Bauhinia Room, HKCEC.

Awards of the HKEIA are divided into 3 categories of products: Consumer Electronics, Portable Electronics and Industrial Electronics (Parts & Components) . Winners are as follows: -
