HKEIA Annual Dinner 2008

The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) held its Annual Dinner on 27th November 2008 at Renaissance Kowloon Hotel. Over 400 guests and members came to join the event and shared the great happiness.

The dinner began with welcoming remarks from HKEIA chairman Prof. K.B. Chan, followed by an address from guest-of-honour Mrs Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, HKSAR. They both concerned regarding the global financial crisis and how it affected the industry. They were confident that Hong Kong people would respond positively, in order to get through this difficult time. In addition, a cheque presentation ceremony was commemorated during the evening for the HKEIA Education Fund donating over 100 XO computers through One Laptop One Child programme.

As in previous years, electronics manufacturers, traders, their guests and buyers as well as many Chairmen of associations, senior government officials and leading dignitaries from Mainland and Hong Kong came to enjoy and had a great time in the joyous occasion. The guests also took the opportunity to meet old acquaintances, made new friends and shared their insights and experiences of the industry.

The dinner also featured a series of entertaining programme including singing and musical performance, table prize and lucky draw as well. All in all, the atmosphere of the Annual dinner 2008 was jovial and full of fun.
