HKEIA & UBS Luncheon Seminar - "Hong Kong Economy Forecast 2008"
Near 100 HKEIA members and guests attended the "Hong Kong Economy Forecast 2008" luncheon seminar & New Members welcoming lunch co-organized by the HKEIA & UBS AG in 20 April 2008 at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel.
Held at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, the seminar was officiated by Prof. K. B. Chan, Chairman of the HKEIA and Mr. Andrew Look, Managing Director, UBS Investment Research, Head of HK Research, Strategy & Product as guest speaker to provide unique analysis and forecast for the development of Hong Kong's economy in 2008. Prof. K.B. Chan delivered the opening keynote for the luncheon with industry experts and new members about the challenges expected in the future. He hoped these challenges would be opportunities for industrialists especially through hints provided by the speaker in the seminar.
During the seminar, Mr. Andrew Look explained how the US mortgage debt and rate cut severe the global economy and highlighted the QDII and IIS boom Hong Kong & China's economy across with some tips and hints on investment. He said " Hong Kong's economy would be much better in the second half of the year during the glooming of the US dollars and her economy reborn. Many of our members commented the seminar making them clear to the future economy and they could outline their investment plan for this year more comprehend.
