HKEIA Annual Dinner 2007

The Hong Kong Electronic Industries held an Annual Gala Dinner on 14th December 2007 at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks. More than 400 guests and members packed the Core building.

When the dinner started rolling, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Frederick Ma as our honorable guest to deliver speech to the us following the Chairman of the HKEIA, Prof. K.B. Chan welcomed the guests. He estimated the industry would face new challenges in 2008 that he encouraged the industry put more afford to upgrade their production. He added the HKEIA will provide latest information and keep cooperation with governments to enhance the industry.

As in previous years, electronics manufacturers, traders, their guests and buyers as well as many senior government came to enjoy and have a swaying time in the joyous occasion. But, of course, they took time to renewing relationship and making news friends and talking shop.

Charity Auction is the theme of the annual dinner this year with aims to raise funds for the HKEIA Education Fund in order to aid poor students in both China and Hong Kong. Especially, appreciation to the HKEIA Education Fund Executive Committee Members donated their private treasures for auction: Honorary Chairman, Prof. K.B. Chan donated 6 pcs 9999 gold USB, Chairman, Mr. Y.K. So donated an "Ancient year Pur-er tea" and Vice-Chairman, Cheng Kit donated an ancient vase with Pur-er tea in the auction section. All guests were enthusiastic in auction their treasures results a yearn for donation of total HK$262,000.

Thank you for all members and guests enthusiastic and generous, we have raised over 4 million for the HKEIA Education fund. All in all, the atmosphere of the Annual dinner was jovial and full of fun. Guests were excited and felt contented after enjoyed the sumptuous food. We have to look forward to the superb dinner next year with a prosper Hong Kong.
